Why We Believe In Salvation

God placed Adam in the Garden of Eden and had communion with him there daily.  When Adam sinned, this communion ceased.  Adam not only lost is place in the Garden, but Romans 5:12 declares, Wherefore, as by one man’s sin entered into this world, and death sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned.  Through salvation, God has restored man to a place of fellowship and communion and given back to him blessings and benefits that were lost when Adam transgressed against God.

God’s Part In Salvation

God Loves Us.
Romans 5:8 - But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

God is concerned about us.

2 Peter 3:9 - The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

Romans 15:4 - For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.

God has given all an opportunity.
Romans 10:11-13 - (v. 11) For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. (v. 12) For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that all upon him. (v. 13) For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

He will perform that which he has promised.
Romans 4:21 - And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform.

Titus 1:2 - In hope of eternal life, which God, that can not lie, promised before the world began;

Christ’s Part In Salvation

Christ is able to save.

Hebrews 3:7-8 - (v. 7) Wherefore (as the Holy Ghost saith, today if ye will hear his voice, (v. 8) harden not your hearts, as in the provocation, in the day of temptation in the wilderness:

He works for us and in us.

Without Him we can do nothing.

He gives us assurance.

Our Part in Salvation

We must repent of our sins.
Luke 13:5 - I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.

2 Corinthians 7:10 - For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death.

We must humble ourselves.
Matthew 18:3 - And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.

1 Peter 5:5-6 - (v. 5) Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder, Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud and giveth grace to the humble. (v. 6) Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:

We must have faith in Christ.
Ephesians 2:8 - For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

Hebrews 11:6 - But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

James 1:6 - But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering.  For he that waivereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.

Confess Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.
Romans 10:9-10 - (v. 9) That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. (v. 10) For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness: and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

We must obey God’s Word.
Hebrews 5:9 - And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him;

2 Thessalonians 1:7-8 - (v. 7) And to you who are troubled rest with us, and when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his might angels, (v. 8) In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ:

HOW SHALL WE ESCAPE

After we have heard the Gospel, that Christ died for our sins, that He was buried and rose again, how shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation (Hebrews 2:3). AMP
