Why We Believe In Salvation God placed Adam in the Garden of Eden and had communion with him there daily. When Adam sinned, this communion ceased. Adam not only lost is place in the Garden, but Romans 5:12 declares, Wherefore, as by one man’s sin entered into this world, and death sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned. Through salvation, God has restored man to a place of fellowship and communion and given back to him blessings and benefits that were lost when Adam transgressed against God. God’s Part In Salvation
God Loves Us. Jeremiah 31:3 - The Lord hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee.
God is concerned about us. 2 Peter 3:9 - The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. Romans 15:4 - For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.
God has given all an opportunity.
He will perform that which he has promised. Titus 1:2 - In hope of eternal life, which God, that can not lie, promised before the world began; Christ’s Part In Salvation
Christ is able to save. Hebrews 3:7-8 - (v. 7) Wherefore (as the Holy Ghost saith, today if ye will hear his voice, (v. 8) harden not your hearts, as in the provocation, in the day of temptation in the wilderness:
He works for us and in us. John 16:8- 9 (v.8) And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: (v. 9) Of sin, because they believe not on me; Titus 3:5 - Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;
Without Him we can do nothing. 1 Corinthians 12:3 - Wherefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking by the Spirit of God calleth Jesus accursed: and that no man can say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Ghost.
He gives us assurance. 1 John 3:24 - And he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth in him, and he in him. And hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he hath given us. Romans 8:16 - The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: Our Part in Salvation
We must repent of our sins. 2 Corinthians 7:10 - For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death.
We must humble ourselves. 1 Peter 5:5-6 - (v. 5) Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder, Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud and giveth grace to the humble. (v. 6) Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:
We must have faith in Christ. Hebrews 11:6 - But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. James 1:6 - But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that waivereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.
Confess Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.
We must obey God’s Word. 2 Thessalonians 1:7-8 - (v. 7) And to you who are troubled rest with us, and when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his might angels, (v. 8) In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: HOW SHALL WE ESCAPE After we have heard the Gospel, that Christ died for our sins, that He was buried and rose again, how shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation (Hebrews 2:3).
