Why We Believe In Salvation

God placed Adam in the Garden of Eden and had communion with him there daily.  When Adam sinned, this communion ceased.  Adam not only lost his place in the Garden, but Romans 5:12 declares, Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into this world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned.  Through salvation, God has restored man to a place of fellowship and communion and given back to him blessings and benefits that were lost when Adam transgressed against God.

God Loves Us.

Romans 5:8 - But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

Jeremiah 31:3 - The Lord has appeared of old unto me, saying, you, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with loving kindness have I drawn thee.

God is concerned about us.

Isaiah 1:18 - Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they will be as wool.

2 Peter 3:9 - The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is long suffering to us, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

Romans 15:4 - For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.

God has given all an opportunity.

Romans 10:11-13 - (v. 11) For the scripture says, Whosoever believes on him shall not be ashamed. (v. 12) For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. (v. 13) For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

He will perform that which he has promised.

Romans 4:21 - And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform.

Titus 1:2 - In hope of eternal life, which God, that can not lie, promised before the world began;

Christ is able to save.

Hebrews 7:25 - Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever lives to make intercession for them.

Hebrews 3:7-8 - (v. 7) Wherefore (as the Holy Ghost says, today if you will hear his voice, (v. 8) harden not your hearts, as in the provocation, in the day of temptation in the wilderness:

He works for us and in us.

Romans 5:5 - And hope makes us not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.

John 16:8- 9 (v.8) And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: (v. 9) Of sin, because they believe not on me;

Titus 3:5 - Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;

Without Him we can do nothing.

Zechariah 4:6 - Then he answered and spoke unto me, saying, This is the word of the Lord unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit says the LORD of hosts.

1 Corinthians 12:3 - Wherefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking by the Spirit of God calls Jesus accursed: and that no man can say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Ghost.

He gives us assurance.

1 Thessalonians 1:5 - For our gospel came not unto you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Ghost, and in much assurance; as you know what manner of men we are among you for your sake.

1 John 3:24 - And he that keeps His commandments dwells in Him, and He in him.  And hereby we know that He abides in us, by the Spirit which he has given us.

Romans 8:16 - The Spirit itself bears witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:

We must repent of our sins.

Luke 13:5 - I tell you, Nay: but, except you repent, you shall all likewise perish.

2 Corinthians 7:10 - For godly sorrow works through repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world works through death.

We must humble ourselves.

Matthew 18:3 - And said, Verily I say unto you, Except you be converted, and become as little children, you shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.

1 Peter 5:5-6 - (v. 5) Likewise, you younger, submit yourselves unto the elder, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resists the proud and gives grace to the humble. (v. 6) Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time:

We must have faith in Christ.

Ephesians 2:8 - For by grace are you saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

Hebrews 11:6 - But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him.

James 1:6 - But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering.  For he that waivers is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.

Confess Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.

Romans 10:9-10 - (v. 9) That if you will confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and will believe in thine heart that God has raised him from the dead, you will be saved. (v. 10) For with the heart man believes unto righteousness: and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

We must obey God’s Word.

Hebrews 5:9 - And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him;

2 Thessalonians 1:7-8 - (v. 7) And to you who are troubled rest with us, and when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with His mighty angels, (v. 8) In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ:

After we have heard the Gospel, that Christ died for our sins, that He was buried and rose again, how shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation (Hebrews 2:3). AMP
